Introducing a coffee bean roasting place in Mochimune, which deals in special coffee with only 5% of the domestic distribution and high quality coffee beans. You can taste the coffee beans before you buy, so you can buy the coffee beans of your choice without any hassle!
We want to bring special coffee to as many people as possible.

Moetora Coffee opened on the ground floor of Hut Park Mochimune in Suruga-ku, Shizuoka City, in March 2024. It is not a café, but a coffee bean roasting and sales shop. We spoke to the owner, Mr Ashida, to find out more.

Moetora Coffee is a coffee bean roastery that was opened to bring the appeal of special coffee to a wider audience! The coffee beans are roasted on a daily basis using the latest roasting machines from Probat of Germany, one of the world's three largest roasting machine manufacturers.
"Original Blend" supervised by Masakuni Sakata, the best roaster in Japan.

The JCRC (Japan Coffee Roasting Championship), where coffee roasting experts compete in their skills and sense of style. Moetora Coffee is regularly instructed in the techniques of roasting by Mr Masakuni Sakata, the 2019 JCRC winning roaster, including hand-picking to sort coffee beans, actual coffee brewing and tasting, cupping, etc. 'We want the drink to taste good, so ask us anything that concerns you,' says staff member Takimoto. 'When I drink special coffee, I can't drink the normal coffee I used to drink. It's that good.' He also spoke about the appeal of special coffee.

Moetora Coffee sells Moetora Coffee Original Blend, supervised by Mr Sakata. It is a well-balanced blend of coffee beans from different regions, including two Ethiopian varieties, Guatemala and Colombia, each with its own characteristics.
Taste-test to find the coffee you like

Moetora Coffee offers coffee tastings, with the exception of some products. As of 2025/3, the product line-up includes four types of coffee beans.
- Mochimune Blend
- original blend
- Colombia
- Smooth Brazil
Those with the word 'blend' in their name are blends of several different beans, while for Colombia and Smooth Brazil, they are single origin, meaning that only one type of coffee bean is used.
The Mochimune blend is deep roasted and the Colombian is shallow roasted to bring out its fruit-like acidity; in March 2025, Smooth Brazil will be newly launched. It is shallow roasted and light to drink. We invite you to sample it in the shop to find your favourite taste.
To brew a good cup of coffee

We asked the owner, Mr Ashida, what is important for making a good cup of coffee.
'The most important thing is to use good beans. And brew freshly ground. Freshness is the most important thing with coffee. Oxidation starts as soon as they are ground, so we want you to grind and brew only the amount of coffee you want to drink. That is why Moetora Coffee sells coffee in bean form. Of course we can give you ground coffee, but in that case we would prefer you to drink it within a week.'
Moetora Coffee's coffee beans can be brewed both hot and iced, according to the company. Coffee is less bitter and more acidic when the temperature is cold. Therefore, deep-roasted bitter coffee is suitable for iced coffee, and the blend is made with this balance in mind.
Moetora Coffee's beans are high-ranked special coffees with a bright acidity and sweet aftertaste. We are confident in the taste of our coffee, so we invite you to taste it.
Original bags made from coffee bean jute bags

Moetora Coffee also sells sundry goods! The jute bags in which coffee beans are imported are reused to produce original jute bags for sale. Each bag has a different design, so you can make your own original bag. They would also make a great gift for coffee lovers!
Self-serve coffee available on the spot.

You can also self-brew Moetora Coffee drip bags at the shop and enjoy coffee to take away - for 450 yen per cup, the staff will give you a lecture on how to brew your own delicious coffee. Just around the corner, fes coffee serves Mochimune blend espresso, while Moetora Curry on the second floor of Hut Park serves iced coffee.
Coffee lovers are encouraged to visit Moetora Coffee in Hut Park Mochimune and experience the taste of special coffee.
