The reason for the opening of Moetora Curry and Shirotora

The store is operated by LUSH Co., Ltd., which develops a music label and regional revitalization projects centered around Yaizu and Mochimune. They wanted to start a restaurant inspired by the character "Moetora" from their fermented enzyme drink, leading to the launch of a specialty spicy pork cutlet curry shop with a fiery spicy theme. The manager of Moetora Curry and Shirotora is Yoshiki Kevin, originally from Osaka. Before opening this restaurant, he ran a horse meat and Japanese cuisine establishment in Osaka. However, during an event where he visited Mochimune, he fell in love with the area and was given the opportunity to manage Moetora Curry and Shirotora. Surprisingly, Kevin is not fond of spicy food, but he is working hard every day to ensure many people can enjoy the sweet and spicy addictive Moetora Curry.

The katsu curry at "Moetora Curry and Shirotora" is spicy.

"Is it really spicy?"
"I'm worried I might not be able to handle it."

For those hesitant about the term "spicy," toppings that can mellow the heat are recommended! The store manager, Kevin, highly recommends the egg topping. He strives to use as many local ingredients as possible, which is why he uses the Fuji no Meigetsu eggs from Marufuku, a company based in Yaizu. These carefully sourced eggs come from chickens raised on bonito flakes from Yaizu in the Asagiri Highlands at the foot of Mount Fuji, featuring rich, deep orange yolks. They help soften and mellow the spicy curry.

The pork used for the cutlet is sourced from the local butcher "Senmi Shōen Hanashiro" in Mochimune, and the rice is provided by "Maeda Rice Store," also in Mochimune. This demonstrates their commitment to maintaining connections with local businesses in Mochimune.

The mysterious, melt-in-your-mouth dessert, Shirotora.

After the meal, Shirotora is served, a dessert with a yogurt-like taste that's slightly tangy, similar to a lassi. It has a gentle sweetness and a mysterious texture that melts as soon as it touches your mouth. It soothes the lingering spiciness from the curry, providing a pleasant, cooling sensation. It's like an oasis in the desert or a cold plunge after a sauna. The combination of spicy Moetora Curry and the refreshing Shirotora is truly inseparable.

With its fruity sweetness and addictive spiciness, paired with the unique dessert Shirotora, this spicy cutlet curry is a must-try for lovers of spicy food. Don't miss this experience!
